Wallabies legend George Smith will join a host of former rugby union and league greats at a gala fundraising lunch ahead of this year’s 30th Annual Coopers Invitational Byron Bay 7s.
The recently retired Wallaby is arguably one of the greatest players to have donned the gold jersey, earning 111 test caps in a glittering career spanning nearly two decades at the professional level.
On Friday 18 October, 2019, Byron Bay Rugby Club will host the first-ever All-Stars Lunch at Club Byron – ‘The Bowlo’, with proceeds going towards a local charitable organisation, Breast Cancer Support Group Byron Bay.
“We’re thrilled to have George and some amazing stars from both codes playing in this year’s sevens festival as part of our partnership with Paladin Sports, and we felt a lunch on the Friday would be a great opportunity to bring the community together to meet some of them.” said Eddy Brown, Byron Bay Rugby Club President.
“It’s a great way to celebrate the 30th year of the Coopers Invitational Byron Bay 7s, and help a fantastic local cause”.
Tickets are now on sale, with both individual tickets available, or groups of 8 on a table, making this a perfect opportunity for local businesses to bring staff or clients along to an entertaining day-time event.
The full lineup of stars attending the lunch will be announced over the coming weeks.
